About Us
At the Heart Valve Experts, our professional cardio-specialist team is on-board to serve high-risk patients requiring a transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedure.
We specialize in dealing with all types of heart valve replacement cases. Our top priority is to restore your heart health with precise care and dedication.
If you are dealing with a heart valve disease, our professional team of cardio-specialists and healthcare experts are one step away from repairing the diseased valve with a healthy valve after a detailed evaluation and internal examination of your heart and health condition.
Diagnostics
At the Heart Valve Experts, first our specialists will check your symptoms through a detailed physical examination.
To confirm the diagnosis of your disease, our professional team of healthcare experts offer and perform the following diagnostic tests based on your condition
Chest X-ray
Chest X-ray is an imaging procedure through which our doctor examines the inside picture of your chest, heart, blood vessels, bones, and lungs to identify the problem.
Through a chest X-ray, our cardio-specialist will analyze any abnormality in the size, shape, and position of your heart, lungs, and blood vessels and confirm the diagnosis or severity of your disease.
Echocardiography
Cardiac MRI and CT-scan
A cardiac MRI is a detailed and thorough imaging test that provides confirmed information and internal picture of the heart with the help of large, strong magnetic and radio waves. It is a lengthy and expensive procedure. The cardiac MRI helps examine heart failure, damage, or other conditions.
A cardiac CT-scan uses X-rays to produce internal images of the heart muscles, veins, and blood vessels, and is less detailed and a quicker procedure than MRI.
EKG
EKG is a procedure that detects and records the patient’s heartbeat. The procedure helps record abnormal or irregular heartbeat and symptoms of any previous heart attack by tracking the electrical activity of the heart.
Stress test
Cardiac catheterization
Cardiac catheterization is a minimally-invasive procedure done to assess the functioning of the heart. It uses a hollow, thin tube called a catheter which is inserted into the blood vessels of the arms or legs and is guided to the heart. The procedure helps evaluate leaky or narrow heart valves and how the blood flows through the heart.
After performing the diagnostic tests and confirming the disease, our cardiospecialists take the decision of undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement for treating heart valve disorders.
Our Team
At the Heart Valve Experts, our cardiovascular specialists work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare experts to restore heart health and deliver speedy recovery to high-risk patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement or suffering from any cardiovascular disease.
Our team includes (but not limited to):
- Cardiovascular specialists
- Nurses
- Radiologists
- Anesthesiologists
- Heart surgeons
- Pharmacists
- Physicians
Our Services
- At the Heart Valve Experts (HVE), our doctors undergo a detailed evaluation of each patient to check if they are a suitable candidate for the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure.
- Our expert team of trained and qualified heart valve specialists delivers comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients.
- The assessment and patient evaluation are done by our skilled medical team of interventional cardiologist, nurse, and surgeon who are experienced in the TAVR procedure.
- At the clinic, we educate our patients about the complete procedure and overall cost of TAVR surgery, why it should be done, tests and medications that will be required during the treatment, and if there are any risks involved
FAQs
What kind of procedure is TAVR?
The transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure is a novel technique used to repair a damaged aortic valve with a healthy valve. The procedure is done without removing the diseased aortic valve.
The aortic valve is one of the heart valves that allows blood to pass from the left ventricle (heart’s lower chamber) to the aorta (main artery of the heart that carries blood to the rest of the body).
If any problem arises in the aortic valve, for example, it becomes narrowed or leaky, the damaged valve must be replaced to ensure proper supply of blood to the heart and rest of the body.
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement is a minimally-invasive procedure that is ideal for high-risk patients who require a valve replacement, but open heart surgery is considered risky.
Who is the right candidate for the TAVI procedure?
Any patient with severe aortic valve stenosis who is at high risk for surgery or undergoing open aortic valve replacement procedure can be considered and evaluated for TAVR.
However, surgery should be the right choice for patients below 65 years of age or more than 20 years of life expectancy.
Why should I prefer TAVR over other heart valve replacement procedures?
TAVI can be a lifesaver if you are at high risk or physically unfit for surgical valve replacement procedure, vulnerable to surgical complications, or above the age of 60 to 70 years and require valve aortic replacement.
This is because TAVR is a minimally-invasive technique and offers faster recovery time. Moreover, the complication rates of TAVR procedures are very low and it comes with long-term clinical benefits.
What is the approximate cost of TAVR procedure?
The cost of TAVR procedure depends on the type of valve used for implantation.
For example:
- Bioprosthetic valve implantation will cost you around 4 to 6 lakhs.
- The approximate cost of aortic valve replacement is around 5 lakhs.
- The cost of a balloon expandable valve is approximately 15 to 20 lakhs
- Self-expanding second generation valves will cost you 19 to 24 lakhs on average.
- The cost of a self-expanding third generation valve is around 25 to 28 lakhs.
